Other Features: We wish to welcome the work of the late Rod Chappel to our gallery of handmade knives, with this exquisite piece he called the Seahawk. It would definitely fit the bill for heavy duty tasks in the field. To start off, Mr. Chappel sculpted both sides of the handle from stabilized maple. He sure did a fantastic job making the handle very ergonomic. It feels like it is a part of your hand when you grab hold of it. The blade steel of this lovely piece is made from cryogenically heat treated 440C stainless steel that is mirror polished to perfection. Boy, is this knife sharp !! As with all of Mr. Chappels knives, a heavy duty tanned wood/cowhide belt sheath is included. Some of the other features of this piece include, integral guard and finger grooves as well as a lanyard hole in the back of the handle. The combination of carved handle and steel components equate to a very ergonomic hold. These features aid greatly should the owner decide to put this knife to hard work. From an artistic standpoint, this combination also adds just the right amount of contrast to the piece as well. For the serious fixed blade collector, this piece would fit rather nicely in with your other knives and provide a little style diversity as well. Whether in the collection or in your hunting gear, this knife will do it all.
