| Other Features : When it comes to the topic of handmade knives and ABS Mastersmiths, Shane Taylor is a household word. Shane must be one of the most well known mastersmiths with a reputation for some of the finest work to come out of Montana. This very special and rare piece, direct from the shop of Shane Taylor, is one of Shane's beautiful batwing folders. Along with this piece's great functional competency, it is also a stunning work of art. The gorgeous blued "W" pattern mosaic sports very interesting and colorful pattern of lightning bolt like stripes of several beautiful colors.. You can see several hues of blue, yellow, orange, purple and copper in this absolutely breathtaking work. The handle scales are very nice blue mammoth bark ivory which also sports green, brown, beige and tan overtones. The scales are secured by Shane's own handmade and fileworked screws that match the piece perfectly. The ivory really matches the steel in color very nicely. The liners are also heat colored blue and intricately stippled as well. The backspacer of this lovely piece is painstakingly engraved by Shane in various geometric patterns both inside and out to form very interesting artistic expression. To top it all off, Shane included a very nice ruby as a mounted stone in the thumb stud. A choice that is quite fitting and follows the overall theme of this beautifully batwing art knife. If you are a serious collector of mastersmith folders, this piece should be on your small list of sought after pieces. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an incredible work such as this which is not just a slice of custom knife history, but also an incredible work of art that would be a great investment.
