This piece has a vault like lockup. The handle is ergonmically designed to fit nicely in the hand and you can really get a tight grip when you need to put some pressure on it for a heavy job. The blade steel is S30V which holds a great edge and is easier to sharpen than many of the high tech steels available today. So, if you are looking for a knife that is really designed to be used (not just admired), this one will definitely do the job and continue to do so for a very, very long time.
