The blade steel is the very popular ATS-34 that has been hand finished to a beautiful satin shine. The mammoth bark scales are of the crackle variety with nice character and contrast. One thing for sure is the utility that this smaller piece will provide. It is shaving sharp!! With regard to craftsmanship, this piece is extremely respectable. When closed, blade falls nicely in the handle right in the center of the liners. The backspring and blade spine are nicely flushed when the blade has been deployed. This piece also features a great half stop, stainless pins, easy deployment with nice snap as well. The wharncliffe blade is just perfect for smaller tasks that this knife would be great for. What a great knife from a talented maker with great materials. What else could you ask for. Now, the price !!! |
