Additional Features:  This stunning example of old world battle gear is a true testament to the artistic potential that Todd Kopp has exhibited in an attempt to further the art of handmade weaponry.  Todd started with a blade formed by Travis Wuertz of his own damascus, and formed this wonderful and exotic example of cutlery art.  The handle is a huge slab of fossil walrus ivory in its true surface form (no interior here!).  Todd also formed a wonderful Habaki from terrific mosaic mokume.  The Habaki matches nicely with the beautiful sandwiched style hilt.  The hilt is both artistic and unique.  It is a combination of blued mild steel surrounding fileworked and polished brass.  On the other side of the handle, the butt plate of this piece is formed in the same way as the hilt with blued mild steel as well as polished and fileworked brass.  The termination point of this wonderful piece is a butt cap fabricated by Todd of both a fileworked brass spacer and a fileworked and blued mild steel end.   Wow, what a magnificent work of art by this very talented maker out of Apache Junction, Arizona.  This is a true one of a kind piece.  It would make a magnificent addition to any serious cutlery collection.
